Benjamin Fairly is known for his vibrant use of color and texture. In his practice he tries to use many different mediums including oil paint, spray paint and various fibers to achieve depth and energy.

He is a self-taught artist living and working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Spending most days in his home studio sharing his time with his wife & kids. He has exhibited throughout his career and has had an active imagination since childhood.

I spend my time most days in the studio with confusion and frustration. I’m unclear if I want to be an abstract artist, fiber artist or a figurative artist. My mind chooses no definite or clear path. My mantra is “Create, Destroy, Rebuild” while drawing my inspiration for my work from human facial features. I try to capture an energy of reality through shapes, forms, colors and textures.
